LOVE, JOY & POWER: TOOLS FOR LIBERATION (LJP) is a feature length documentary about the co-founders of the Black Voters Matter Fund, Cliff Albright, April England Albright and LaTosha Brown, the work they do to empower African American communities especially in the rural south, and the crucial role they played in flipping Georgia from red to blue in the 2020 Presidential election and the 2021 Georgia Senate Runoffs. The film also delves into the backlash and the terrifying, racially based threats they faced while doing this vitally important work.

Love, Joy & Power is more than a documentary. It's a call to action, a roadmap for organizing and a reminder that  ordinary people have the power to change history.

This special event aims to educate, empower, and mobilize Black communities at a time when Black political power is facing a coordinated assault. BVM will team up with these leading Black-led and owned programs with a combined reach of 6 million viewers.

The simulcast comes on the heels of the All Roads Lead to the South National Day of Action in Selma and Montgomery, where thousands gathered to show their collective power in responding to the onslaught of attacks on voting rights. This national response isn’t just about voting rights; it’s about building Black political power. The recent dismantling of key protections in the Voting Rights Act, highlighted by the Louisiana v. Callais decision, only underscores that this critical moment, we must control the narrative and use every tool we have to inspire, mobilize, and activate our communities for the challenges ahead.
